Post Falls offers a variety of activities all season long

Year after year, summertime here in North Idaho brings with it a plethora of family friendly events and activities to take in while enjoying the season. Along with the sunshine comes so much to see and do, so we’ve narrowed it down for you to make it easy to choose your next summertime adventure.

River City Market and Music

This summertime event returns for its 2023 season on Wednesday, July 12, and continues each week through August 16. Held at Post Falls Landing Park (305 West 4th Avenue), the community can enjoy a Farmers Market 5:30 to 8:30pm, with live music filling the air from 6 to 8pm (see lineup below). Find more than 60 vendors to shop from, food and fun, and more at this family friendly event.

Movies in the Park

What better way to spend a summer evening than with family and friends gathered at one of the area parks for an outdoor movie? Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, and a few snacks, for Movies in the Park. All movies begin at dusk and are free to attend.

Post Falls Festival

Q’Emiln Park is the place to be July 7 through 9 for the annual Post Falls Festival. Enjoy three days filled with outdoor fun, with everything from daily live music, parade down Seltice, car show at City Hall, a movie in the park (at dusk), and food and craft vendors to round out this wonderful community event. Parks & Recreation

Post Falls’ Parks & Recreation Department has a whole lot planned when it comes to summer activities for all the kids, and adults too.

Summer Day Camp, located at Post Falls Kiwanis Park (4176 East Weatherby Avenue), is available to those grades kindergarten through sixth (based on the 2023-2024 school year). Activities include swimming, art, games, field trips and much more. New this summer: weekly art activities with the Jacklin Arts & Cultural Center. Regular hours are 8:30am to 4pm; extended care 7am to 5:30pm.

Sports camps and lessons are available all summer along, from volleyball and soccer to tennis and basketball. Visit PostFalls.gov to find all the fun to be had this summer season.

Silverwood

A day spent at Silverwood Theme Park in Athol is a must—for both locals and visitors alike! From the one-of-a-kind rollercoasters to the expansive waterpark, Silverwood has it all. Triple Play

At Triple Play Family Fun Park, an indoor amusement park in Hayden (175 West Orchard Avenue), rain or shine, the fun is always in season. Whether it’s time spent in the arcade, bowling, bumper cars (or bumper boats!), go-karts, laser tag, ropes course, miniature golf … there’s something for every age.  Find out more at 3Play.com.

Fun Unlimited

Summer is the ultimate season to get out on the water. If you’re in need of water sports rentals, look no further than Fun Unlimited.
