Warm up with a craft cocktail or brew
It’s official! The first snow of the season has already made its debut, which means many of us will be looking for opportunities to stay indoors. But don’t let the cold dissuade you from getting out and treating your family and friends to an unforgettable drink or meal out—right here in Post Falls.
The culinary scene here has exploded over the years, as have its craft brewing and distilling options. With so many local flavors to experience, there’s always an excuse to imbibe and dine—no matter the occasion.
Up North Distillery (846 North Boulder Court) is a craft distillery and cocktail bar offering its patrons (21 and older of course) both seasonal and classic cocktails, made with their “farm to flask” spirits that are made on-site. Up North’s gluten-free, small-batch, single-barrel craft spirits (Honey Spirits, Apple Brandy, North Idaho Single Malt Whiskey, and Pine Liqueur) use locally sourced ingredients and pair perfectly with any season. This is the place to unwind after a busy afternoon of shopping or a stressful day at work. To add to the fun, stop in 7 to 9pm Thursdays for trivia, or 6 to 9pm Fridays for live music. You can also opt for a flight or book a tour and exclusive tasting. UpNorthDistillery.com
The Bunker Bar (702 North Spokane Street) offers a full bar with craft cocktails, along with local and regional beverages. They’ve got fun events throughout the week, like Tuesday Trivia, Whiskey Wednesdays, and Thirsty Thursdays. If you’re in the mood for a great burger (like the Flamethrower with pepper jack cheese, applewood-smoked bacon, serrano peppers, and jalapeno ranch), Burger Bunker is right next door. You won’t want to pass up a side of Sand Bag Poppers (hand-rolled fried bites, stuffed with bacon bites, diced serrano peppers, three cheeses, and served with jalapeno ranch dipping sauce).
A portion of all sales from Burger Bunker and The Bunker Bar is donated to local nonprofits that benefit the surrounding community. BurgerBunker.com/bunker-bar
